Tournament Hosting &
Philadelphia Whitemarsh RFC
Philly-Whitemarsh's tournament hosting tradition for major 7s events started in 1995, when PW hosted the National 7s Championships in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. In 2002, PW hosted the event for the eight consecutive year. Starting in the same year, PW began to host the Army Navy Rugby Classic. Though no longer hosted by PW, this fall will be the fourth consecutive event. PW recently hosted the 2005 Ivy League Rugby Championships in April at A.A. Garthwaite Stadium in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. After the success of the 2004, 2005 and 2006 tournaments and the perennial support of our title sponsor Royall Lyme, PW is poised to establish the Surfside 7s as a major annual rugby event.
Surfside 7s
The Surfside 7s is shaping up to be a tremendous event. We have an incredible location right across the street from the beach with two beautiful pitches. In addition to the men's open division, we are hosting a REALLY open division just for the fun of it. The U19 division has become the strongest of all.
We will have an assortment of MARFU and non-MARFU teams in the open bracket and U19 teams from all over the EPRU including a strong incoming freshman team from Kutztown.
Surfside 7s 2010

With the beachfront Windrift Hotel and restaurant sponsoring the event and located right across the street from the main pitch, we're expecting sandy spectators lined across the field. Bring your friends; bring your family for a day of rugby, fun and sun at the second annual Surfside 7s tournament.
There will be after tournament festivities for participants immediately after the tournament at the Windrift. The Windrift Bar is just across the street from the 80th Street pitches.
